Every E-resource provided by this gateway webpage, is purchased by library, except those resources displayed as “Free”. Due to the contract with suppliers, there is limitation in using databases. The E-resources are restrictively used by current NCCU staff and students. As a result, no matter you are on or off campus, you MUST accord with the following identity, and use ID and passwords of library card to log in.

  1. Current staff who applied library card.

  2. Registered students.

  3. Students apply quasi-graduate library card.

  4. Students apply temporary suspension library.

If you are alumni, retired staff or outsiders holding library card, you are only allowed to log in when you are on campus.

 

Connection Type Illustration

Due to the different version of each purchased E-resource, there are a few types of connection and area:

1.
These are online databases purchased by library, users could use them through web connection directly. You need to log in with ID and password of library card.
2.
These are restrictively limited to certain IP addresses. Please use the SSL VPN service provided by the Computer Center to search the library databases from an off-campus site.
3.

This is free online academic resources selected by library, and it is open to everyone.

4.
At specific location
Such as “Commerce Library”. This type of database is standalone database, which is installed at specific location. You need to go to library for retrieving.
5.
These are the databases provided by suppliers on trail. As these databases are not purchased by library, they can only be used on specific period. After the probation, the databases will not be displayed in the list. You need to log in with ID and password of library card.

To access the E-resources, except of the free, you need to use ID and Password of the library card to log in.

 

Term of Fair Use

Digital resources and periodical available in the Database Directory and Digital Periodical System are purchased version and bound with user contracts.
List below are some common user requirements in contracts. Please abide by the requirements when you make use of the database. Serious Violations will endanger common benefits of all the faculty and students and the violator will be liable to his own behavior.

You can:

  1. Read, download, print, and save your search.

  2. Read, download, print, and save the full text of a single article.

  3. Use the database for use of personal academic, research and educational purpose and note the reference.

  4. Send the electronic file of a single article to legal users (current faculty and students.)

  5. Publish on the course webpage the URL of certain material in the database, for legal users to access.

You can not:

  1. Use specific software to automatically, systematically, purposely download data in a great quantity.

  2. Purposely print or download the full text of material in database in a great quantity, for example, to download the full text of all (or most) of each issue of specific periodical, or to download full-text articles more than reasonable proportion in a certain period of time.

  3. Use the database for business or commercially profitable purpose.

  4. Publicize (for example, through e-paper or bbs) the documents in the database to illegal users.

  5. Publicize full-text PDF files downloaded from the database on public website for free download.
